Big Give 2020

The Big Give is a 25-hour online giving event hosted by The Columbus Foundation beginning Wednesday, June 10 at 10 am and ending Thursday, June 11 at 6 pm (the time has been extended due to problems with the server on Wednesday morning–so many people were wanting to donate that the site crashed) that allows our supporters to help us help tons of central Ohio kitties. Every dollar donated goes to help cats.

The Columbus Foundation will pay all credit card fees and they will also provide a $1 million plus bonus pool of money that we are eligible to get donations from. The minimum donation is only $20 via credit card, PayPal, ApplePay, or Google Pay.

Below is our link to The Giving Store. You will go here the day of The Big Give, so take a look now.

#GivingTuesday is an inspiring day of generosity across the globe, and we hope you’ll support your favorite nonprofit organizations, including us, Black and Orange Cat Foundation, on November 27.

Your donations on #GivingTuesday will go to help us with our ongoing spay and neuter efforts for stray and feral kitties, as well as the kitties whose owners cannot afford the surgeries without our assistance.

This year, we are partnering with The Columbus Foundation to help you give AND receive!

On #GivingTuesday, when you make a gift to any two nonprofits (please choose us as one of the two!!) in The Columbus Foundation’s Giving Store, you’ll receive a $20 Charitable Gift Card in return! Redeemable at any of the 1,000+ nonprofits in The Giving Store, a Charitable Gift Card makes the perfect gift or stocking stuffer this holiday season.

You can find Black and Orange Cat Foundation  in the Giving Store and give directly by going HERE.

  • Why you should participate in Give Two on #GivingTuesday:

Featuring more than 1,000 area nonprofits, The Giving Store is your comprehensive resource for supporting your favorite organizations and finding new ones to love.

The Giving Store’s shopping cart allows you to bundle multiple gifts into a simple, convenient one-stop shopping trip.

Low transaction fees on credit card gifts mean more of your dollars directly support nonprofits’ great work. If you’re feeling extra generous (and, on #GivingTuesday, who isn’t?), you have the option to cover all fees, so 100% of the donation goes to the organization.

Search options let you quickly find your favorite nonprofit by name, or search based on the causes you care about – from the arts and social services to the environment and education.

So please join us for another exciting annual day of giving, and thank you in advance for your generosity.

We have a very special Giving Tuesday project that we would like to ask for help with and this project involves a sweet puppy named Snowball.

Yes, we know, you are not used to seeing dogs featured on our pages, only cats. Usually homeless cats.

But no worries, Snowball has a home where he is loved and adored. Finding a home for Snowball is not the issue.

The issue is this: Snowball had terrible teeth. He was in pain. Since he was living in a household with children, his owner was afraid that, being in pain, he might bite someone. So Snowball’s owner reached out to us for help.

We sent Snowball to Dr. Tom at East Hilliard Vet Services, a man who knows teeth. He said that Snowball had some of the worst teeth he had ever seen and had to pull them all! Every single tooth. Snowball also got a bath and some extra TLC while he was with East Hilliard’s staff.

Snowball now feels much, much better, but we need a little help paying for the bill which was over $2000, even with the kind donations Dr. Tom gave us.

If you can find it in your heart to help us with this GivingTuesday project, we would so appreciate it. The family plans to try to pay us back, but we know they don’t have a lot of extra money. They loved Snowball so much they did not want him to suffer and we are glad we could help.

If you would like to make a donation for Snowball on GivingTuesday, please visit our web site and click on the PayPal button in the upper left corner: http://www.bandocats.org

You can also make a donation by mailing a check to: Black and Orange Cat Foundation, PO Box 126, Plain City, Ohio 43064

The photo of Snowball in the hat is his “before teeth were pulled” photo. The photo of Snowball with his sweet, human friend is after having his teeth pulled. He looks so much happier. Dr. Tom also provided us with a photo of Snowball’s nasty teeth and mouth (above).

Additionally, you can also help us out on Giving Tuesday by voting for our “MyGivingStory” by going HERE.

You can vote each day for the story and we could win up to $10,000 or several other smaller grants. For every friend who also tells their story after following our link, we’ll also get an extra entry in to the sweepstakes prizes to win money for the kitties. Help Black and Orange win grants in the “MyGivingStory” competition!
